The onboard job
This Shurflo 255-225 inlet strainer belongs between the freshwater tank supply and a compatible pump. The clear bowl lets you inspect collected debris, helping make cleaning part of routine water-system maintenance.
Connection details
- Model: 255-225.
- Tank-side connection: ½″ straight hose-barb inlet.
- Pump-side connection: ½″ female swivel / wing-nut pump connection.
- 50-mesh stainless steel screen.
Check before buying
Match both connections to your existing pump and pipework. A nominal ½″ thread does not establish compatibility with BSP fittings. Allow room to remove the bowl for cleaning. Fit on the pump’s suction side only, following Pentair’s instructions.
What it solves
It screens out particles that could reach the pump. It is a debris strainer, not a drinking-water purifier, and it will not cure an electrical fault or an air leak elsewhere in the system.
