Secure a hose connection with a clip that fits around the hose.
Useful aboard a narrowboat
Hi-Grip stainless steel worm-drive clips are useful when renewing a suitable hose-to-barb connection during water-system or waste-hose maintenance. Their adjustment range is the diameter the clip can surround, not the hose’s internal bore.
Choose the size correctly
- Select the adjustment range shown in the size options.
- Measure the outside diameter of the hose while it is fitted over the barb.
- The stocked HGS range is 304 / A2 (18/8) stainless steel.
- Worm-drive adjustment with rounded band edges to help protect the hose.
Before you fit it
Choose a clip range that comfortably covers the assembled hose diameter. Check the hose, barb and clip are suitable for the service and follow the fitting instructions; overtightening can damage a hose. An old, hardened or split hose needs attention as well as a new clip.
Complete the job
Include the correct clips when replacing a pump or hose connection, then inspect and leak-test the connection before closing up the access panel.
