Hard-water scale in a narrowboat toilet needs a different maintenance step from everyday deodorising. Elsan Descale is a 1 litre calcium and limescale remover for portable toilet waste tanks, and can also be used in the toilet bowl as directed.
The job it helps with
- Removing mineral deposits left by hard water in a cassette or portable toilet waste tank.
- Planned toilet maintenance when scale remains after routine emptying and rinsing.
Use as a separate cleaning step
Do not mix Descale with other chemicals. Follow the bottle's preparation, contact-time and rinsing instructions, and check the toilet maker's cleaning guidance. Do not pour it into a tank containing another toilet fluid.
This is a maintenance cleaner, not the fluid used to recharge the waste tank after every emptying.
